Prof. Lukman Omotayo Omokanye

Dr. Omokanye Lukman Omotayo was born in Offa, Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State. He was appointed Lecturer 1 and consultant in 2011 and rose to become associate professor in October 2019. He has served the UITH/University of Ilorin in several capacities. To name a few; Member of the Stem Cell Research Committee to date, level adviser for 500 Level Clinical Medical Students (2014-2017) Dr, Omokanye has made substantial contributions to knowledge in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and achieved several breakthrough studies in the area of infertility and assisted conception. Recently he planted his foot-print on the sand of time, in the history of infertility treatment at UITH/University of Ilorin and Nigeria as a whole when he led a team of doctors to perform the first-ever in-vitro Fertilization and embryo transfer as treatment for infertility in almost 40 years history of existent of UITH/University of Ilorin in 2013.
